The calling of art has always
been a part of who she is; even in grade school there was a need
to get ideas down on paper any paper a grocery
bag, an envelope, whatever is to hand. That need to create is
still part of Marlan Cotners life, and sometimes the "call"
is silly: olives leaping into a martini glasses, and sometimes
the "call" is carefully rendered portraits. The oils
Cotner creates exhibit great control and understanding, but more
importantly perhaps, a terrific sense of humor. Come laugh and
be wowed.
